medical needs. Provides deviated, fixed route and
demand-responce service. UCARTS is funded
by the Federal Transit Administration, Tennessee

If you are involved in an accident while in transit, please remain calm and follow the directions of your driver. Be assured that every driver is trained in accident and emergency procedure. If evacuation of the vehicle is warranted please help your driver by making the procedure as orderly as possible.
UCARTS follows the same policy as the county school systems. If the schools are closed in your county, UCARTS will not be providing transportation. Exceptions will be made on days where main roads are clear and drivers have determined they can transport customers safely. If this occurs, you will be notified that transportation is available.
UCARTS is closed on all scheduled state and federal holidays. In addition, one in-service day is scheduled for December and will be announced one month in advance. UCARTS provides driver training every month. We try not to interrupt transit service on these scheduled in-service training days. However, the need may arise to cancel particular routes. If this should occur, you will be notified a week in advance. UCARTS will give as much advance notice as possible if other training days are scheduled. Ask your driver for a copy of our holiday and in-service training schedule.
UCARTS is committed to maintaining an environment free of discrimination. No persons in the United States shall, on the grounds of race, color, sex, disability or national origin, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefit of, or subjected to discrimination under a program or activity receiving federal financial assistance from the Department of Transportation.
UCARTS will make every effort to accommodate customer request for transportation. However, due to limited resources customers may be asked to reschedule for another time or day. If any UCARTS employee is not following agency policies or performing their job duties and responsibilities in a safe and professional manner, please notify your local UCARTS office at: 1.800.544.2032

UCARTS welcomes questions, comments and suggestions.
